I was contacted yesterday by someone trying to help 3 mares in the Ellensburg area. Their owner died in a house fire a couple of months ago, and the children of the owner have not been able to afford to feed these mares. They are free and need new homes ASAP! For pictures and more info on each mare, please go to the Sunny Acres Facebook page: www.facebook.com/?ref=home#!/pages/Grandview-WA/Sunny-Acres-Ranch/484125995522

Have you contacted Vada at RCER to see if they can help? I could help pay for some hay if that will help

RCER must have not space then. Will it help if they had a ton of hay?

I think the people really need the horses moved, but I'll find out.

Good things are happening for these mares! We have a home for one of them, and they will pick up this morning. The person that called me about the mares may keep the one with the purple halter. So, there will only be one mare left. I'm not sure which mare will be left right now, because the person picking up this morning will choose when they get there and let me know. Syndi, if you or RCER can donate the ton of hay that Michelle mentioned, that would be great. A veterinarian in Ellensburg has offered to donate some dewormer and hay for the two mares that are left. Michelle, we may need to take you up on the paddock. I'll be in touch by email.

All 3 of these mares are safe tonight! One was taken to Tri-Cities for rehab and handling. The other two have been moved to a safe place in Ellensburg. They will be available for adoption in 30-60 days after receiving some food, dewormer, and handling. Thanks to everyone who helped save these girls!
