I am hosting a clinic with Angie Reitmeier of Full Circle Ranch in Potlatch, ID. The clinic will be held at the ranch on March 12th, 2011. Participant spots are already full, but auditors are welcome. The clinic will focus on preparing your horse for trail rides, and we will be using obstacles that you find on the trails.
We will begin at 10am, have a potluck lunch (bring finger food), and finish up somewhere around 4pm. Pray for good weather!

Sounds like we are going to have some "interesting" obstacles for the clinic! Should be a real fun day. We have a person lined up for photography, so pictures will be coming sometime next week. Forecast is calling for rain on Saturday though. Hoping the weatherman is wrong.....again!

The clinic was so much fun! The morning started out with ground skills playing with the obstacles. Several of the horses were scared of the car wash, the black hole of death, the parachute, and the tires. It was fun to watch the handlers use their skills to get their horse's confidence in negotiating the obstacle. Within just a few hours, all of the horses were negotiating every obstacle in some way calmly. ;D Here are some pictures from our fun day! Angie & Khamarah  Coelho and the tires  Darby navigating the mattress  Fancy meeting the tiger  Leroy checking out the car wash  Bugs wearing the latest fashion for he-man geldings  Amber and Katie having a conversation  Coelho giving his opinion about the parachute  He decided it wasn't so bad after all  Bugs did not like the black hole of death at first  But he mastered it after several tries  The tires were no problem for Amber  The horse-eating car wash obstacle  Leroy figured it out  Khamarah likes tigers!  And Hallie likes Khamarah!  Darby made it under the parachute too  And gave a tiger a ride  Fancy met the tiger too And made a new friend  Dandy was excited to stretch her legs and show off  But at the end of the day, she was content to just stand still  We were working on the horses being comfortable next to other horses by doing a wagon wheel exercise  A late afternoon ride in the pasture to end the day  |
